Accessibility

Here at Ornella Underwriting we want everyone to be able to use our website. Below are some of the measures we’ve taken to ensure our site is accessible:

  • Alternative text for all images on our website
  • Text links written so that they make sense when read out of context
  • Regular validation checks to ensure the HTML code of our web pages is valid

Reading our documents

All of the documents on our website are provided in pdf format. Most computers already have the software to open these document formats.

If you are having trouble reading a PDF document on this website, Adobe offers a free online tool for converting PDF documents to HTML or text. For more information about PDF accessibility see the Adobe website accessibility section.

Choosing your own text size

You can easily change the text size on a web page using your browser settings. Depending on which web browser you are using, this can be done in the following ways:

  • Google Chrome: Select the menu icon> Settings> Advanced> Web content
  • Mozilla Firefox: Select the menu icon> Options> Content> Font & colours
  • Internet Explorer: Select the menu icon> Internet options> General> Fonts
  • Safari (OSX): Select Safari> Preferences> Advanced> Accessibility

Alternatively you can change the resolution of your computer screen to make the entire screen display bigger or smaller. Depending on which sort of computer you are using, this can be done in the following ways:

  • Microsoft Windows computer: Select Start> Control panel> Appearance and personalisation> Display> Adjust screen resolution
  • Apple Macintosh computer: select System Preferences > Displays > Resolution

Choosing your own screen colours

You can use your web browser options to choose your own colours. Depending on which web browser you are using, this can be done in the following ways:

  • Google Chrome: This can be changed by installing plug-ins such as the “High Contrast” plug-in.
    This is done by selecting the menu tab > Setting > Show advanced settings > Accessibility > Add additional
  • Mozilla Firefox: Select the menu icon > Options > Content > Fonts & colours
  • Internet Explorer: Select the menu icon > Internet options > General > Colours
  • Safari (OSX): Select Safari > Preferences > Advanced > Stylesheet
